The Student Affairs Office of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) held an inauguration and appreciation ceremony for the Student Representative Council (MPP) of the Student Association for the 2024/2025 session, and an appreciation event for the 2023/2024 session at a restaurant recently.
Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal attended the event. In his address, Dr Haji Norarfan advised the newly-appointed student representatives to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, emphasising that leadership is a trust that must be handled wisely and justly.
He also urged the SRC to maintain effective communication with the university administration to achieve beneficial outcomes.Dr Haji Norarfan expressed gratitude to the outgoing SRC members for their dedication and commitment during the 2023/2024 session.
The ceremony continued with a welcoming speech from Dean of Students at UNISSA Haji Hayatuddin bin Haji Moksin.
Some 19 students, including six members of the executive committee and 13 members of the executive council, received appointment letters for the 2024/2025 session.
Mohammad Shafiq Hisyamuddin bin Rosli, a first-year student in the Bachelor of Science in Islamic Finance at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Finance, was appointed as the president of the MPP for the 2024/2025 session.
Additionally, 22 students received appreciation certificates for their service in the 2023/2024 session.
Assistant rectors, senior officers, academic staff and members of the Student Affairs Office also participated. – Fadley Faisal
