Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Tehran: Nasser Kanani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who was speaking to reporters today, Monday, June 10, in his weekly news conference, answered two questions of the AVA reporter about the latest decision regarding He answered the situation of the Afghan consulate in Mashhad, as well as holding a meeting of the regional contact group in Tehran without the presence of the representative of the Islamic Emirate.
In response to the first question about the situation of the Afghan consulate in Mashhad, he noted: Regarding the decision of the Afghan caretaker government to change the consul general in Mashhad, the view of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran that any diplomatic changes and relocations must naturally be in accordance with the mechanisms of the Vienna Convention and in The framework of certain methods in the diplomatic practice of making profit is reflected to Afghanistan.
He added that the Afghan side also responded that they will act within this framework.
In response to the second question and the meeting of the regional contact group for Afghanistan, Kanani also said: this meeting will be held on Saturday for two days in Tehran and at the initiative of the Islamic Republic, with the presence of special envoys of four regional and neighboring countries of Afghanistan (Iran, Pakistan, Russia and China) was held. The topic of the conversation was focused on the situation and developments in Afghanistan.
He pointed out that this meeting was a continuation of the meetings that were held at the regional and international level at the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran due to the sensitivity of the Afghanistan issue and the events that affect the security and stability of this country on the situation of its neighbors and the region. Various issues related to the situation in Afghanistan, including the fight against terrorism and issues related to humanitarian issues and helping the livelihood of the people and the economy of Afghanistan, the political process and the future of Afghanistan’s developments, were discussed and exchanged opinions.
Regarding the non-participation of the representatives of the Islamic Emirate in the Tehran meeting despite their official invitation, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran said: The non-participation of the Afghan side, which had taken place, was naturally subject to the decision of the authorities of the caretaker government of Afghanistan.
He emphasized that what the Islamic Republic has always emphasized is helping to consolidate the peace, stability and security of Afghanistan, and in this framework, it has always interacted with the caretaker government of Afghanistan, because any disruption and deficiency in the security and economic situation of this country, in Afghanistan’s borders will not remain limited and exclusive, so these issues were discussed and exchanged in the Tehran meeting.
Kanani also said indirectly about the Doha meeting: In connection with other regional and multilateral mechanisms, in connection with Afghanistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as it has already shown in practice, in any mechanism that aims to help consolidate and stabilize stability. and security has been formed in Afghanistan, he will have a constructive and effective participation at a high level and will continue his policy in the same framework.
