KUWAIT CITY, June 25: The inaugural meeting of the National Halal Food Committee yielded several significant recommendations and decisions aimed at regulating the importation and certification of halal food in Kuwait. The following are the details: Preparation of Importation Guide — The Standards and Metrology Department at the Food and Nutrition Public Authority was tasked with initiating the preparation of documents and arrangements to create a comprehensive guide outlining the conditions and requirements for importing halal food into Kuwait. This guide will serve as a reference for all importers to ensure compliance with halal standards. Professional Certification for Halal-Slaughtered Animals — The committee proposed the development of a professional certificate specifically for halal-slaughtered animals. This certification aims to standardize and ensure adherence to halal slaughtering practices, meeting Islamic dietary laws.

Terms of Reference and Tasks — The meeting defined the terms of reference and tasks of the National Halal Food Committee.
