Sheikh Muhammad al-Babaiedi, the secretary general of the Islamic Media and Guidance Center in Lebanon, spoke to IQNA in an interview about the role of holding conference on the cause of Palestine in helping the Palestinian nation.
He hailed the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of Palestine and the resistance axis and said they are based on the verses of the Quran and in line with the views of Imam Khomeini (RA).
He said since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, it was clear that it was also a revolution of Palestine.
Right after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) ordered the establishment of the Palestinian embassy (in place of the former Israeli embassy) in Tehran, and this was the first case of recognition of the Palestinian state in the world, he noted.
Imam Khomeini’s declaration of the last Friday of Ramadan as the International Quds Day was also an emphasis on the fact that the issue of Palestine will never be forgotten, Sheikh al-Babaiedi stated.
He added that with such genuine cases of support from Iran, the commanders and fighters of resistance began to walk on the path of resistance against the Zionist regime.
As for the countries of the region, the Lebanese scholar said that all Arab nations are supportive of the Palestinian issue and the rights of Palestinian people, while some rulers and governments are not happy with this.

Referring to the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, Sheikh al-Babaiedi said the Israeli regime has failed to achieve its goals in the war and only caused the whole world to raise their voice against its atrocities in the Palestinian enclave.
He added that every conference, gathering, speech, rally and demonstration on the issue of Palestine today can be considered genuine support for the people of Palestine
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Lebanese thinker highlighted the stances of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who were martyred in a recent helicopter crash, in support of resistance and the Palestinian people.

He said Palestine lost two of its main supporters in this tragic incident but the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to be supportive of Palestine and its people.
