Members of the Ministerial Committee of Organization of Islamic Cooperation assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit under the chairmanship of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Ayman Al-Safadi, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Hakan Fidan, and His Excellency Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held an official discussion session with His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain, José Manuel Albares, in Madrid, Spain. The meeting discussed the efforts made to halt the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the city of Rafah and its surroundings, the importance of an immediate ceasefire, and the delivery of adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid across all parts of the Strip. The members of the ministerial committee valued Spain’s recognition of the Palestinian state as a victory for the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to live in dignity and freedom in their independent sovereign state on the borders of 4 June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The meeting also reviewed the efforts of the ministerial committee supporting the issue of recognition of the Palestinian state and taking the necessary steps to implement the two-state solution in light of the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international initiatives. The members of the Ministerial Committee stressed the importance of the international community taking urgent steps to recognize the Palestinian state, to ensure a return to the path of peace in a way that achieves a just and comprehensive peace, preserves the rights of the Palestinian people and achieves security in the region. The members of the Ministerial Committee stressed the importance of stopping all illegal Israeli measures in the West Bank and the importance of applying international law and international humanitarian law and holding the Israeli occupation accountable for the crimes it commits against unarmed civilians.
