For the first time in history, we are witnessing a massacre live. Since October 7th, Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out an unprecedented genocide. While Zionist circles claim that the events began on October 7th with attacks by Palestinians, this narrative does not resonate with the global populace. Historical records clearly show that for over 75 years, Israel has been killing Palestinians, seizing their homes and lands. In this brutality, no distinction is made between infants, children, women, or men. Soldiers kill at will, and settlers, protected by occupation forces, displace people from their homes.People around the globe are rising in an unprecedented manner. Protests are held daily, voices are raised in anguish. As the horrific images continue to emerge, reactions intensify, and Israeli leaders become even more ruthless. Many countries are now taking a stand for Palestine. However, Western countries, led by the US, Germany, and France, are doing everything in their power to protect Israel. Protesters are being arrested, deported, and whether an ordinary citizen or a celebrity, anyone who speaks out is fired, and contracts are canceled.Even members of the International Criminal Court are under threat. The mere request for Netanyahu’s arrest has put immense pressure on the institution. Families are being threatened, and individuals are intimidated with threats of death. Despite the ruling to stop the attack on Rafah, the response was burning tents and decapitating babies, with the US stating, “they haven’t crossed our red line yet,” and the UN Security Council rejecting all resolutions. This drives people toward radicalization. As countries fail to resolve the issue, more people will seek their own justice, leading the world into greater chaos. Despite all of Israel’s provocations, Hezbollah forces aligned with Iran remain silent. While the world is standing up, Palestinians remain utterly alone.Cutting off trade means stopping the brutalityLarger steps must be taken to end this brutality. For instance, Colombia has cut all diplomatic ties. But how many countries have followed? Türkiye’s stance is also significant. Many expect Türkiye to take even more drastic steps, even declare war. However, this is not feasible. Recently, Türkiye legally banned all trade with Israel. But has any Muslim or Western country supported this action?Unfortunately, despite Türkiye’s decision severely impacting Israel, other Islamic countries remain in denial. Despite public pressure, neither Saudi Arabia nor Egypt nor the United Arab Emirates are taking bold steps. Even Saudi Arabia’s statements that “there will be no normalization until the Palestinian issue is resolved” lack credibility. The global community expects these countries to pressure Israel, urgently cut all diplomatic ties, and halt all trade as the only solution. Countries with conscience, starting with Türkiye, should sever all collaborations with Israeli universities and declare that Israeli university diplomas will no longer be recognized. If states do not intervene, the issue will never be resolved. It remains a mystery why these leaders only issue condemnations and what they fear. Reducing the issue to just Hamas is also incorrect. If these countries were sincere, they would act for the occupied West Bank and prevent its increasing occupation. Both Muslims and all people with even a shred of conscience demand that Islamic and Arab countries wake up. These massacres will not stop without crippling the already struggling Israeli economy, which relies solely on US support. If necessary, Islamic countries should declare that they will cut ties with other Muslim countries that do not suspend normalization and halt trade. Otherwise, tomorrow neither Gaza, Jerusalem, Palestine, nor even Egypt or Syria will remain. It’s time to wake up and take action.
